Develop a dynamic ice cream parlour experience for London’s 2025 festival season. Centred around a modular build, the concept was to deliver an eye-catching, immersive structure that draws crowds through bold design and sensory appeal. Each serve was themed around popular Disney IPs. The experience extended beyond the counter, with engaging queue activations and interactive touchpoints that heighten anticipation, making the parlour a standout destination within every festival it shows up at.
The ice cream designs originated from an earlier Italian activation, where they were created in a painted style. However, to stand out instantly in a busy festival environment, the visuals were reimagined with a digitally rendered, photorealistic finish and designed to sit seamlessly atop Disney+'s signature gradient backgrounds. While working on the menus, it quickly became clear we made the right choice.
Lilo & Stitch Release
As the activation ran throughout the summer, it coincided with the release of the live-action Lilo & Stitch, giving me the opportunity to design a new ice cream for the film. We started by breaking down what made the original designs successful and found they struck a careful balance. Recognisable enough to clearly evoke the character or series, but never so literal that it felt like you were eating the character itself. With that principle in mind, I drew on the film's Hawaiian setting to shape the design.
